Tips for shipping / transporting classic cars

You have spent a lot of time and money in acquiring your classic auto. Now, you need to get it across town (or country). You want to protect your investment; therefore, it is prudent that you take extra care when transporting your new SAAB or other auto. There are many qualified companies that transport vehicles but, you need to know what to look for.
Find out the company’s safety record. Does the company in question have their own drivers or do they contract outside drivers? You will want a company whose drivers have the most experience driving and dealing with classic/vintage autos.
Enclosed trailers are essential if you wish to protect the paint job of your new classic auto. Rocks and other debris from the road may fly up and scratch the paint or break a windshield. Never use a company that transports with open trailers. Make sure that your auto is secured down in a way that will prevent your classic auto from bouncing.
