Start Your Own Classic Car Club

That’s the third time this week you’ve seen someone else drive by in a classic 1965 Ford Mustang. Although you’ve made a number of efforts to reach out to the other owners of classic cars in your town, it seems that the closest club for people like you is at least thirty miles away.
Maybe it’s time to think about starting your own classic car club for area residents who share your passion. You can limit it to others who drive the same type of antique cars or open it to those with all models of vintage cars that are at least twenty-five years old. Part of the fun of starting your own club is that you can make the rules.
Starting a classic car club offers the members valuable opportunities to network not just with other connoisseurs of antique autos. It provides a forum to discuss car restoration, where to find classic car accessories and sometimes hard-to-find items such as classic car spares.
Members can also share information on who is interested in buying classic cars or selling classic cars, as well as good contacts for a classic car rental. Although not every vintage car enthusiast is concerned about hiring classic cars, the club can maintain a file in case the information is ever needed by its members. If you’re not sure how to begin, many classic car clubs have web sites on the Internet that provide valuable information on how to start a chapter in your town. If you want to be more independent, sometimes a simple ad in the local paper will be enough to catch the eye of another classic car lover.
And, whether the club members all drive Triumphs, BMWs, Mercedes or Model Ts, part of the fun of owning a vintage car is sharing that passion with other automobile enthusiasts. So, what are you waiting for?
